In 2009, I was refused a UK study visa.
In 2024, I'm heading to the UK to speak at a conference and co-host our LinkedIn workshop.
Here’s the full story:
So in 2009, I was still in college.
A consultant friend prepared my documents for admission to a college in the UK. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the visa, and that wasn’t the worst part.
The worst part was not knowing why I couldn’t get it. All communication was handled by my friend.
We lost touch, and the next time I tried to connect with him, I learned he had passed away from a heart attack. So, I never applied for a UK visa again, fearing another rejection.
Fast forward to today, and I’m going to the UK, not as a student, but as a speaker and workshop co-host. Talk about a full circle moment!
Lesson:
Don’t let setbacks stop you.
Make them the reason you push forward.
Want to join me, Jamie, and Craig Dean for this amazing conference and our hands-on, full-day LinkedIn workshop on September 23 and 24, in Birmingham?
